Calling all Clan Leaders, Elders, and Members! The summer 2022 update for Clash of Clans is now live, so log onto the game to get a first-hand experience of everything new in Clash of Clans. Here are all the patch notes for the latest update in Clash of Clans.
The highlight of the update in Clash of Clans is the free training costs
Compared to previous updates in Clash of Clans, most of the things they changed in the new update focus on the quality of life (QoL) improvements. However, the change most players are looking forward to is the free training costs.

After this update, players won’t have to worry about training costs for their armies. In the developer update video from Supercell, they explained that the reason for removing the training costs is to allow players to experiment with new strategies.
If you have been playing Clash of Clans for a while now, you’ve likely run into some problems with allotting your resources. And sometimes, you might train troops or create spells which weren’t much help to your offense or defense.
So to allow players to try out new strategies and tactics, the team behind Clash of Clans decided on removing training costs altogether. On the other hand, you may be wondering where you can use Elixirs if training is free.

Elixirs can now be used to upgrade Walls and Clan Castle

Now that training will not cost you any amount of Elixir, Supercell adjusted how and where you can use your Elixir.
In the official patch notes released by Supercell, here are the adjustments for Elixir consumption in Clash of Clans:
- Starting at Town Hall level 5, Walls will be able to be upgraded with either Gold or Elixir.
- The Clan Castle now requires Elixir to upgrade at all levels. The amount of Elixir required is the same as the former Gold cost.
As for other updates concerning Training in Clash of Clans, here are all the improvements:
- Army training time and housing space requirements are still present.
- The Training Boost perk from the Season Challenges will now only affect training time.
- Players will no longer receive returned resources when donating to a Clanmate.
- Donation Refunds from Clan perks have been removed.
- Events will no longer discount training for Troops or Spells.
- Elixir loot in Legend League has been reduced to match Gold loot.

The Clan Capital in Clash of Clans is also improved
Builder Potions

Beginning in the new update, players can use Builder Potions from the Forge tab found in the Home Village.
District Challenges

If a district’s layout has not been modified over the course of a Capital Raid Weekend, it will still be available for Friendly Challenges during that weekend.
Capital Raid Attack Counter Notification
To improve accessibility, players don’t have to visit the Clan Capital to see how many Capital attacks they have left. If you’re at your Home Village, the Airship displays the number of attacks you have left before the Capital Raid Weekend ends.
Raid Medal Distribution

Compared to Raid Medals being awarded equally among clan members, the new update changes this. Now, Raid Medals are distributed based on the number of attacks performed by a player over the course of a Raid Weekend.

‘Quality of Life’ improvements in the summer update
As for the other improvements included in the latest update for Clash of Clans, they focus mainly on quality of life in the game. Furthermore, the quality of life improvements in Clash of Clans are based on player feedback.
The quality of life improvements highlighted in the developer update video from Supercell are the following:
- “Remove all” function from army training
- Super Troop quick donation
- Scenery Randomizer
Another QoL update is the Trader – Raid Medal UI. If an item you can purchase using Raid Medals is out of stock, it will now display a “Sold Out” sign instead of being greyed out.
