Control Could Be The Next Epic Games Store Freebie

BY JC Paredes 5 years AGO 2 MIN READ

According to a German website, Control might be the next game inside the Epic Games Store vault!

Reddit user schneper posted that mydealz (German website) posted a poster indicating that Control will be available later today. The countdown for the vault is at 6 hours (at the time of writing) and it will replace Frostpunk. And of course, as this is not official until Epic Store opens up its vault, always take these rumors with “a grain of salt”.

Control

Control is a Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games action-adventure title released in 2019. The game is set in the Federal Bureau of Control, a top-secret United States government agency entrusted with containing and researching anomalies that defy reality’s laws.

The plot of Control is a mind-bending adventure through mental fright and paranormal mystery that will keep gamers equally perplexed and captivated throughout the game. The majority of the player’s queries about the story go unanswered. Instead, the game asks more and more questions until the players have a distinctive curiosity and fascination at the end.

Control is about the bizarre genre and the fictitious SCP Foundation. SCP is an online project that collects narratives from users about supernatural things.

The game was launched for Microsoft Windows PS4, and Xbox One in August of 2019. Then in October of 2020, a cloud-based edition for the Nintendo Switch was unveiled. Lastly, in February 2021, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S editions of the game were also launched.

Check out these awards under its belt:

  • BAFTA Games Award: Performer in a Supporting Role
  • The Game Awards: Best Art Director

I'm passionate about all things gaming, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for uncovering hidden secrets within games. My gaming journey began at a young age, captivated by titles like Resident Evil and Tomb Raider. Today, I enjoy exploring open-world RPGs and MMORPGs, consumed by their lore and crafting theories about their narratives. I'm also drawn to the suspenseful atmosphere of horror games and the intricate narratives of crime-themed titles, bringing a unique perspective to my writing. Beyond gaming, I have a fascination with anything unexplained and chilling, a passion that often spills over into my exploration of horror games. When I'm not engrossed in a virtual world, you can find me curled up and spending time with my adorable doggy sidekick, Teemo. As Managing Editor, I'm committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for our writing team.
