Demon Slayer Season 3: A look at Mist Hashira and Love Hashira

Analyzing Muichiro Tokito’s backstory and power

Muichiro Tokito is one of the most talented swordsmen among the elite members of Demon Slayer Corps and was the youngest to earn the title of Hashira in merely two months of training. His parents died early, leaving him and his twin brother Yuichiro alone, but later a demon killed the latter. This series of tragic incidents left a scar on his life, and from a joyful optimistic child, Muichiro turned into a colder, emotionless person.

In the Entertainment District arc, he was acknowledged by the sound Hashira Tengen Uzui. Most of them compare Muichiro with the greatest pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps, Gyomei Himejima, who is twice his age. The former encounters Upper Moon Four, Hantengu, in the Swordsmith Village, and he is blasted off to the forest after a fierce fight.

Here, the Upper Moon Five demon, Gyokko, attacks Muichiro and poisons him. He remembers his brother’s death from a demon and eventually the Demon Slayer Mark comes alive on his body.

Muichiro’s offensive and defensive abilities increase many folds. He dodges Gyokko’s attacks and the demon is forced to enter his final form. Although the latter is in his final form, the Demon Slayer doesn’t receive any damage at all and kills the monster with ease. Muichiro is able to kill an Upper Moon Five without any fellow slayer’s help, which shows that he is much stronger than the other Hashiras.

However, he faints from the poisoning that reaches his blood circulation by the time he defeats Gyokko. However, fans need not worry as Muichiro survives this battle and is later reunited with everyone.

Analyzing Mitsuri Kanroji’s lore and prowess

On the other hand, Mitsuri Kanroji remains one of the strongest among all Hashiras. She has abnormal physical strength as her bone density is quite higher than any ordinary human being. Mitsuri completed the final selection in just six months of training and hence received the title of Hashira.

She yields a special blade that is flexible and it can move more like a whip rather than a sword. The long blade increases the range of her attack. She adapts to the situation and does not let any of her limitations hinder her growth as a Hashira. She also has outrageous speed and flexibility which is shown when she is battling with Zohakuten.

After her first appearance in Rehabilitation Training arc, she appears in Swordsmith Village arc. Here she encounters the Upper Rank Four demon, Hantengu. She fights his most powerful clone, Zohakuten.

Mitsuri awakens the Demon Slayer mark unconsciously and then ultimately defeats the Upper Moon Four by herself. Although Hantengu blasts powerful compressed sound waves attacks at point-blank range, she withstands and survives it. However, this attack takes a big tow on the slayer and she is left in a state of complete shock.

Mitsuri is rescued by Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya, who shield her from further harm. Zohakuten summons dragons and sends them toward Mitsuri. The Love Hashira keeps battling with these dragons while Tanjiro kills Hantengu at dawn. Later, when all the bodies get burnt up by the sun, Mitsuri reunites with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Genya, Muichiro, and Kotetsu and celebrates their win with them.

Conclusion

Mitsuri is unique in her own way and has a very contrasting personality to Muichiro. She eats like three sumo wrestlers to maintain her body composition. The slayer has created her own Love Breathing style from Rengoku’s Flame Breathing style as she could not master it fully and her whip-like sword can execute long-range attacks on her enemies.

Mitsuri is a powerful combatant with unbelievable strength and endurance, but Muichiro will come forward as the strongest in Demon Slayer Season 3. Muichiro has his natural talent of being a skilled swordsman and he became a Hashira when he was 14. He seems to have the potential of surpassing other Hashiras and the strongest pillar among them, Gyomei.
