Elden Ring is full of main and side quests guaranteed to keep any player busy for hours. And while most of the quests in Elden Ring are long and complicated, the rewards you get for completing them are worth the effort. In this guide, we’ll be walking you through how and where to get the Royal Greatsword.
How to get Royal Greatsword in Elden Ring
Like with other obtainable loot in Elden Ring, getting this Colossal Sword is not an easy task to achieve. You’ll have to take on and finish two questlines, Blaidd’s and Ranni’s, to obtain the Royal Greatsword.

Finish both Blaidd’s and Ranni’s quests
As we mentioned above, getting the Royal Greatsword requires you to finish two-character quests in Elden Ring. Moreover, you need to make progress in the game’s main storyline as well to properly finish these quests.
Some of the major things you need to accomplish first are the following:
- Defeat Bloodhound Knight Darriwil
- Defeat Starscrouge Radahn
- Access Ranni’s Rise
- Clear the Cathedral of Manus Celes
After finishing these tasks, you can now proceed to the next step.

Return to Ranni’s Rise and defeat Blaidd
If you return to Ranni’s Rise after finishing the previous tasks, you will face off against Blaidd. Fighting against Blaidd is easy enough if you know how to ward him and his allies off from a distance.

Additionally, you can make use of incantations to easily defeat Blaidd. Observe his patterns and soon enough, you’ll defeat him in no time.
Obtain the Royal Greatsword
After defeating Blaidd, you can now collect your rewards. Aside from getting Blaidd’s Armor, Gauntlets, and Greaves, you also get the Royal Greatsword.

The Royal Greatsword originally belongs to Blaidd the Half-Wolf. This Colossal Sword gives its wielder flexibility and a notable DMG output. If you’re looking for a Colossal Sword that can give you the upper hand in combat, then definitely get this weapon for yourself after defeating Blaidd.
Moreover, this weapon requires Str 26, Dex 18, Int 22 before you can wield it.
