FFXIV Endwalker: Error 4004 Explained, How To Fix

Error 4004 is usually linked to the character selection screen. Due to the Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker expansion, several players have attempted to log into the game at the same time, resulting in long queue times, with some areas reaching nearly 6,000 people in line.

What Is Error 4004?

If you’ve been trying to log in to Final Fantasy XIV, you might be having difficulty with the game’s launcher, connecting to the server, or having internet problems.

• For those who are having trouble with error 4004, the issue is a little clearer, as is the solution. Sadly, it has everything to do with time. The players must be patient and wait for the congestion to clear.
• When you get this error, it means your connection to the login management server has been on for an extended period of time, forcing your game to close.

How To Fix

You’ll have to restart your launcher and return to the game. Unlike Error 2002, we don’t know whether you’ll be allowed to rejoin the queue and keep your spot. Because of the high queue times associated with Endwalker, Square Enix has been attempting to eliminate this error.

The developers assumed the lobby server’s session time was long enough, however, the queue is currently much longer than expected. To eliminate these errors, a patch must be implemented as quickly as possible.
