Final Fantasy XV Ships 8.9 Million Units Worldwide
Released on 29 November 2016 for PC, PS4 and Xbone, Final Fantasy XV has shipped over 8.9 million units worldwide. This figure makes it the third best-selling mainline Final Fantasy game behind Final Fantasy VII and FFX.
Square Enix first paved way for the series in 1987. 32 years, 15 mainline games and several remakes and spin-offs later, the Final Fantasy video game series has sold over 147 million units worldwide.
GameSpot’s Managing Director, Peter Brown, gave Final Fantasy XV an 8/10 when he published his review on November 28, 2016. Likeminded critics and video game outlets received the game positively as well.
If you prefer playing your games on mobile devices, a chibi-styled version of the game is now available for download. It’s called the Pocket Edition, available on both App Store and Play Store. The game is also available on Google’s game streaming platform, Stadia. Its performance, however, is unambitious.
