After a long hiatus of in-person events due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Epic Games just announced that they will finally bring these types of events back into action! It’s high time we experience it once again. And, with the commencement of the Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) Invitational 2022, it’s all coming true.

The last in-person event Epic Games hosted was the first Fortnite World Cup back in July of 2019. This year, after continuous cancellations, FNCS Invitational will finally be open. The FNCS Invitational 2022 will be open for all pro-players as an offline event.
Moreover, this competition will be held on November 12 and 13 at the Raleigh Convention Center in North Carolina, US. Additionally, Fortnite players from every corner of the world are welcome to participate in this much-awaited event. Fortnite players who wish to join this year will be battling for a ginormous cash prize of $1,000,000! Beat that!

As previously announced by Fortnite, FNCS Invitational (as well as other competitive events) will be all about 2’s. You’ve read that right! As a way to celebrate the year 2022, events will feature players by 2’s which means they will be inviting the best duos in the game to compete in the upcoming tournaments.
Although there is already a fixed date for FNCS Invitational 2022, Epic Games still has the right to cancel or postpone the event if deemed necessary. We know that the pandemic is still with us and we still have to be very careful.
FNCS Invitational 2022 Will Be Hosted by Epic Games
As the game’s developers, Epic Games will be in charge of the whole event. Because it will be an exclusive in-person event, players, as well as staff, still need to abide by the health and safety protocol imposed by the United States of America.
Also, participants will be required to bring vaccination cards, test results, health certificates, and other important travel documents required by the government. For further information, follow the official website of Epic Games here.
On a side note, the biggest and loudest Fortnite tournament, the Fortnite World Cup has not seen the spotlight since 2019. The event was won by a then 16-year-old player named Kyle Giersdorf, more commonly known as Bugha. He took home a whopping $3 Million grand prize and has since been a Fortnite celebrity.
It was previously teased to be continued this year (2022) to give Fortnite fans what they have been missing for almost 3 years now. If the FNCS Invitational 2022 pulls through, we shall be seeing a chain of in-person tournaments coming our way very soon. So stay tuned for more updates, only here at Spiel Times!
