Wowzers! What a sight for sore eyes! Can you guess what’s back? It’s the Fortnite: Short Nite Film Festival!
The fourth installment to the much-awaited short film festival is returning to Fortnite this week. The festival will begin today, May 12, 2022, at 2 PM Eastern Standard time and will conclude on May 16, 2022, at 2 PM ET.
The Short Nite Film Festival is a festival featuring a collection of short animated films from various independent animators. More so, these shorts will be available for screening in the game. As announced by Epic Games on their website, a collection of ten short movies will be featured at the festival. Three of which are world premieres while the tenth short will be the sole film without its theater.

HOW TO WATCH
To watch the anticipated short animated films which will be featured in the festival, follow these simple steps.
- Head straight to the Short Nite row in the Discover Screen inside the game (Fortnite).
- In there, you will see a selection of 10 short films. Three of the films will be world premieres while the last one doesn’t have its custom-built theater.
- After choosing a short film to watch, you will then be transported to the film’s respected theater. You just have to sit back and enjoy as all other films will consecutively play after your chosen film is finished.
- If you want to watch a certain short, just return to the Discover Screen and re-do the steps.

Watch With Your Friends!
The Festival is here to stay for a few days and you have a lot of time to finish all of the short movies. It would be a waste to watch it alone and by yourself, doesn’t it? Because of that, Fortnite will let you enjoy all of the films with a party of up to seven players. Now that is what we call a film festival!
In-Game Watching
Good news! Fortnite players will be able to watch the films Picture-in-Picture whilst playing Battle Royale and other Creative Experiences. Furthermore, this option will be available in Settings.
Theater Rooms
Each film will debut in separate custom-built theater rooms, except for a special one. The tenth film will not be featured in its theater, instead, it will be split into three parts and can be viewed in the loop of all films.
A New Emote
What good would a movie marathon be without the snacks? At this festival, Fortnite is dropping a new emote called the Snackin’ Emote. On May 11 (8 PM ET), this emote will be up for grabs in the Item Shop. Now is the perfect time to catch up on some fantastic animation. Well, what are you waiting for? Let’s jump on it!
