Free Nintendo Switch For Southwest Airlines Passengers

Air travel must often be used. Still, many people fear the experience, the (sometimes) long safety practice before boarding, the delays and suffering for long periods of flight in a cramped cabin, can sometimes undermine the experience. But this does not mean that the experience must always be ugly, especially when it comes to gifts. Recently, passengers on a Southwest Airlines flight from Dallas to San Diego received a free Nintendo Switch with a copy of Super Mario Maker 2, one of Nintendo’s latest games.

The distribution of the console took place among other things by wearing Super Mario Maker themed hats. It didn’t take long for the event to appear on Twitter, where a group of travelers celebrated their new console, fresh from the air.

The move seems to be a collaboration with Nintendo, which we remember in the past worked with Southwest Airlines. The consoles don’t seem to be the new updated version of the Switch that we discussed yesterday but nevertheless, it was still a nice gesture from Nintendo and Southwest.

The gesture can be categorized as a simple marketing gimmick. But, at least it will give those participants at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego something to do while they are queuing for the event.

Also, the game given together with the console was a huge bonus. Since the reviews of Super Mario Maker 2 are rather stellar and receiving a lot of positive feedback from critics and audiences.

It will be interesting to see if there will be other gifts of this type in the future or it is only a single fortuitous event. It is likely that Nintendo and Southwest have targeted a specific flight to give away consoles. Knowing that it would become viral, but it is possible that something similar might happen again.

Recall that Super Mario Maker 2 is currently available for the Nintendo Switch.
