One of the biggest gaming events in the world, Gamescom is all set to return for its 2021 edition. As expected, due to the pandemic it will be held virtually, although it was previously hinted to be a hybrid event. But just like Gamescom 2020, this year’s show will also be an all-digital affair, featuring an opening showcase. Here’s all we know about it.
About Gamescom 2021
Gamecom 2021 will be held from August 25th to August 27th virtually. Every year it is held in Cologne, Germany at the Koelnmesse exhibition but this year, just like 2020, there will be no physical event.
- It starts with Opening Night Live on August 25, a showcase event hosted by Geoff Keighley, and the main Gamescom show will roll out across three days to August 27.
- The developer conference, Devcom, will start on August 23 for its content focus days and then switch to business focus days from August 25 to August 28.
- As of now, 19 publishers are confirmed to be attending Gamescom 2021 and there will also be 80 indie titles showcased via virtual booths during the event. However, Sony and Nintendo are a no show.
It’s for sure that it would be full of great news and reveals for some of the most anticipated games including Bandai Namco’s Elden Ring. Apart from that, Gamescom Awards will be held, and here are all the games nominated in various categories.
