Gas Station Simulator: Unexpected Hit On Steam

Valve’s Steam is one of the biggest gaming services in the world right now with an awesome collection of both free and paid games. Not only that, but it is also a stage to discuss games and compare your achievements with your friends. So, it is a great achievement for any game to get hit on Steam or land among the top games of Steam. Recently a game called Gas Station Stimulator raced towards the top few spots on Steam’s best seller. Here’s what we know about it.

A Tremendous Hit

• The game was released just a week ago on September 15 and it is doing exceptionally well for an indie game.
• It had over 5,619 concurrent players at the time of its launch and has now jumped up to a new height of 7,380 players. It is not a very high figure compared to the major hit games, but it is pretty good for an indie studio.
• It’s among the top 5 best sellers on Steam at the moment and some gamers are enjoying it a lot. The important thing here is that no one expected it to be a success but somehow it has managed to captivate the attention of certain gamers.
• Steam reviews call it an excellent game for people who enjoy metal detecting in real life. Though according to some, it didn’t deliver on the kind of sim experience many players were looking for.

“After thinking I could check it out for about half an hour before bed, I ended up playing this till nearly 4 am”, a Steam user Pumpkin Luna said.

What Is Gas Station Simulator?

At this point, if you haven’t tried it yet, you must be wondering what all the fuss is about. So let us briefly explain how the game works. Gas Station Simulator was released last week and is developed by Drago Entertainment. It is only the second game developed by the indie production house after Treasure Hunter Simulator (2018).

The story of the game goes something like this; you inherit a derelict gas station from your uncle, who might be a gangster. The task is to pay back your uncle, renovate the station, and service wayward travelers. The main aim is to make it the best gas station which is located somewhere on Route 66. Also, the catch is that your life might depend on it (should’ve led with that).

Daily tasks include fuelling cars, attending to customers, hiring employees, stocking snacks, and many more. Also, fixing things up is a big part of the game so painting, renovating, furnishing and all must be done as well. It might seem like much, but you’ll never know whether it’s for you or not till you try it out.
