After Genshin Impact announced version 2.7’s delay, they just announced that version 2.6 is getting extended. With version 2.6 originally ending in a few days (May 10th), Genshin Impact made the decision to extend it further, adding the game’s very first Phase III for banners.
Ayaka’s rerun banner is staying live until ‘version 2.6 ends’
Before this official announcement, Travelers wondered which character would replace Ayaka’s banner. But now that Genshin Impact has come out with this decision, Ayaka and her banner are staying until we assume it’s okay for HoYoverse devs to release version 2.7.
There is no definite date on when Ayaka’s banner ends. If Travelers check out the Wish page, there is only a vague description for the time remaining on the banner. Check it out below.
According to the time remaining on the banner, Ayaka will be available “Before Version 2.6 ends.”
But aside from these characters being available until further notice, the weapon banner is staying the same as well. Travelers can save up Primogems to wish for Mistsplitter Reforged or The Unforged.
Genshin Impact also extended trials for characters featured in the current banner
On the other hand, the Test Runs for the featured characters show a specific expiration time. As seen in the image above, it says the Test Run for Ayaka will go on for 240 days. This was the initial announcement from Genshin Impact. However, they updated her Wish banner and removed the number of days remaining. The reason for this may be for HoYoverse to avoid promising a definite date given the situation in Shanghai, China right now.
Why is Genshin Impact 2.6 extended?
The most probable reason for Genshin Impact extending the current version is because of Shanghai’s strict lockdowns. After COVID-19 cases spiked again in Shanghai, China, the government decided to put the city under lockdown. HoYoverse does their game development in-house. But with the lockdown, it is impossible for them to return to regular work operations.
Moreover, they are experiencing problems with getting food because of the strict lockdown measures the government of China implemented to combat COVID-19. The only thing Travelers can do for now is to hope that the situation gets better.
Genshin Impact will give free Primogems for every week 2.7 is delayed
Beginning May 11th, players are getting compensated every week for 2.7’s delay. According to Genshin Impact’s recent announcement, these are the following items included in the weekly compensation:
- 1x Fragile Resin
- 7x Hero’s Wits
- 16x Mystic Enhancement Ores
- 120,000 Mora
- 400 Primogems
But aside from compensating Travelers, Genshin Impact is pushing through with releasing the Spices from the West event. Stay tuned for our guide on completing that event and getting the rewards.
