Genshin Impact: “Leaker Hunt Decree” Worth $80,000 Filed Against 7 Known Leakers

Genshin Impact is one of the most liked games this year. Leaking games’ information has become common nowadays. All information before the official release is circulated all over the internet. Most of the time, the news proves to be true.

But miHoYo has decided to end this trend of leaking games information which causes a lot of loss in terms of money. The excitement level of the users decreases as they already knew what’s coming next.

So to end this trend MiHoYo has started “Leaker Hunt Decree” lawsuits coming against Genshin Impact leakers, ones worth close to $80,000 directed towards seven prominent Genshin Impact leakers.

The lawsuit against Bilibili is asking to get the information that they have on users posting leaks on the website. Now, after two months, miHoYo is going after seven different Genshin Impact leakers, asking for damages amounting to 500,000 Yuan (~$78,000).

The leakers have not signed the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), it is a standard document signed by those joining MiHoYo’s Genshin Impact beta servers. Moreover, access to the beta servers is only given to selected people who have signed NDAs. So the leaker could be beta players.

They are the only people who could possibly gain access to the data. However, if leakers are hacking into the game’s files and data mining for information, MiHoYo does have a legal basis for suing them, for copyright violations.

• But irrespective of this strong step towards ending the leaking trend, the Genshin Impact 2.4 leaks are continuously spreading. So to tackle this issue miHoYo is releasing the information before the official release.
