Genshin Impact, one of the top open-world gacha games right now, has just revealed the new voice actor who will replace Elliot Gindi as Tighnari. The information was leaked ahead of the 3.6 update. It didn’t take long for HoYoverse to make the official announcement and reveal who the voice actor is. According to the announcement, Zachary Gordon will be the new voice actor for Tighnari after Elliot Gindi’s sexual misconduct scandals.
Zachary Gordon is the new Tighnari voice actor in Genshin Impact
Some of you may already be familiar with the name Zachary Gordon. He is an actor who started his career as a child star in various shows and movies. His most notable role was as Greg Heffley in the live-action adaptation of Jeff Kinney’s popular book series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Aside from acting in front of a camera, Gordon has also dabbled in voice acting before taking on the role of Genshin Impact’s Tighnari. Some of his projects as a voice actor include animated shows like Bubble Guppies, The Mighty B! and The Get Along Gang.

- Starting in the version 3.6 update, Gordon’s version of Tighnari goes live across all users who use the English dub.
- According to some reactions of the leaked audio clip of Gordon’s performance, there were some subtle changes. However, Gordon delivered the lines in a confident and charismatic tone.

- Of course, the leaked audio clip garnered mixed reactions from the Genshin Impact community. Some fans believe that Gordon’s performance can still improve since he sounds too similar to other characters. On the other hand, there were Travelers who praised Gordon for his enthusiasm in voicing Tighnari.

What did Elliot Gindi do?
Previously, the voice actor of Tighnari was Elliot Gindi. Similar to other voice actors, he was beloved by the community since he also had a strong background in voice acting. Aside from Genshin Impact, Gindi also worked on the English dub for Pokemon Journeys: The Series.
Unfortunately, everything changed in February 2023 when Elliot Gindi was accused of sexual misconduct with fans of Genshin Impact. To make matter worse, a lot of his victims came forward and revealed that they were actually minors.
- Screenshots of his conversations with fans circulated online. In the screenshots, Gindi made transphobic and racist remarks.
- Tighnari’s former voice actor admitted that the screenshots were real and the words came from him. Since then, he has apologized for his actions and went on to deactivate all of his social media accounts.
- Unfortunately for Gindi, it was too late for him to salvage his career as a lot of fans and other voice actors came forward with their own experiences with him.
- Following the scandal, HoYoverse has announced that they are cutting ties with Gindi after a breach of contract. All of his lines in Genshin Impact’s English dub will be replaced by Tighnari’s new voice actor, Zachary Gordon.

Where is he now?
Since the scandal broke out and HoYoverse terminated their contract with Elliot Gindi, there has been no update from him. He has also not made any public statements aside from his apology before deactivating all of his social media accounts.
Gindi’s fellow Genshin Impact voice actors have since been demanding accountability from him. His future plans for his career are uncertain at this point. However, it’s easy to see that the scandal has definitely made an indent on his career. Hopefully, his victims have found resolution and are continuing to move forward and put Gindi’s inappropriate actions behind them.
