Genshin Impact: Ruin Serpent, How to Defeat

Genshin Impact - Ruin Serpent

Genshin Impact’s latest update introduced a whole array of quests and areas to explore in The Chasm. But other than that, a new world boss also came with the latest update. In this guide, we’ll be walking you through how to defeat the new world boss in Genshin Impact: the Ruin Serpent.

Location

Genshin Impact 2.6 introduced a new area called The Chasm. By completing the world quests related to The Chasm, travelers can access the underground area of this location. Then, you can find the Ruin Serpent somewhere in the Underground Mines of The Chasm.

How to unlock

If you want to test your strength against this new world boss, travelers have to complete the entire Chasm Delvers questline. After that, the Ruin Serpent can be battled in the underground area of The Chasm.

How to defeat Ruin Serpent

Although the Ruin Serpent is intimidating with its large size, it’s fairly easy to defeat if you’re using the right team. For this world boss, we recommend bringing a Claymore and/or Geo character to the fight. This is because one of the quickest ways to bring the Ruin Serpent down is by attacking the Geo Crystals it summons throughout the fight.

Ruin Serpent Combat Guide

Dark Mud and Oozing Concretions

One of the AoE attacks that the Ruin Serpent uses is the Oozing Concretions. To prevent yourself from getting trapped and having little room to move, use your Lumenstone Adjuvant to clear these contraptions.

Siphon Energy Attack

In the fight, the Ruin Serpent may start spinning around. Additionally, it would look like it’s harnessing energy from the Oozing Concentration around the battlefield. To stop it from fully charging up itself, use your Lumenstone Adjuvant to remove the Oozing Concentration around you.

Sweep Attack

When you see the Ruin Serpent suddenly crash its body onto the ground, you either steer clear of its length or generate a shield. The Ruin Serpent’s sweep attack makes it roll from left to right and vice versa, generating a heavy amount of DMG if you get hit by it.

Recharge your Lumenstone Adjuvant with the Geo Crystals

Throughout the fight, the Ruin Serpent spawns these Geo Crystals around the battlefield. And since you have to use Lumen Energy to remove the Oozing Concentration, you should destroy these Geo Crystals. If you destroy a Geo Crystal, you create Lumen energy that can charge your gadget up.

Rewards for defeating Ruin Serpent

Since the Ruin Serpent is another Field Boss in Genshin Impact, its drops are usually the same as with other bosses. You get a Prithiva Topaz Sliver, Fragment, Chunk, or Gemstone depending on your level.

Moreover, the artifacts you can obtain from defeating this boss are the following:

  • Traveling Doctor
  • Instructor
  • The Exile
  • Gladiator’s Finale
  • Wanderer’s Troupe

And finally, you get a Runic Fang after defeating the Ruin Serpent. However, there are currently no playable characters who use the Runic Fang for ascending. With that being said, we’ll just have to wait until new characters drop in the next update.
