Genshin Impact: Yelan Ascension and Talent Materials

BY Katherine Felix 4 years AGO 4 MIN READ

After HoYoverse officially confirmed Yelan for Genshin Impact, it’s suggested that she’s arriving in the 2.7 update. Yelan is a five-star Hydro bow user and while we only got a glimpse of her in The Chasm, we can expect more from Yelan in the future. In this guide, we’ll be mapping out the materials needed for Yelan’s ascension and talent level-up.

Who is Yelan in Genshin Impact?

Yelan is a five-star Hydro bow user. Following Tartaglia, she is the second Hydro five-star character arriving in Genshin Impact. She follows the release of another Hydro five-star, Kamisato Ayato.

When Genshin Impact officially announced Yelan, they described her as someone who “claims to work for the Ministry of Civil Affairs.” If you already played through one of the quests in The Chasm, we see a glimpse of Yelan running away. Moreover, other Travelers speculate that she is a spy operating in Liyue.

Ascension and Talent Materials for Yelan

We’ll be listing below the needed materials to ascend Yelan as well as improve her Talents. However, these are all based on leaks concerning the character. So as with all leaks, take this with a grain of salt and wait until Genshin Impact officially launches her character in the game.

All of the materials Yelan needs can be found in the region of Liyue.

Ascension Materials

Varunada Lazurite (Hydro Gems)

These are dropped by Hydro world bosses. You can farm these by defeating either the Oceanid in Liyue or the Hydro Hypostasis located within Watatsumi Island. But if you’re farming for Yelan, we recommend defeating the Oceanid since most of her materials are in Liyue.

Moreover, you need 1 Varunada Lazurite Sliver, 9 Varunada Lazurite Fragments, 9 Varunada Lazurite Chunks, and 6 Varunada Lazurite Gemstones.

To fully ascend Yelan to Lvl. 90, you will need 46 Runic Fangs. This is the special material dropped by the newest boss in The Chasm, the Ruin Serpent.

Starconch

Travelers need a total of 168 Starconch to get Yelan to Lvl. 90. However, you can only get 71 Starconch. It will take approximately 48 hours or 2 days until the Starconch refreshes. On the other hand, you can purchase this material from Bolai, one of the NPCs in Liyue Harbor.

Fatui Insignia

This material is dropped by Fatui Agents all over Teyvat. However, these Insignias have three types: Recruit’s Insignia, Sergeant’s Insignia, and Lieutenant’s Insignia.

To get Yelan to Lvl. 90, you will need the following numbers of Insignias:

  • 18 Recruit’s Insignia
  • 30 Sergeant’s Insignia
  • 36 Lieutenant’s Insignia

Moreover, you get these Insignias as rewards once you defeat the following enemies from the Fatui:

  • Cicin Mages
  • Pyro Agents
  • Skirmishers
Mora

If you’re running low on Mora as of now, we advise that you begin stocking up for Yelan. She needs 420,000 Mora alone so you can get her to Lvl. 90.

Obtain these talent level-up materials from the Taishan Mansion domain. You can find this domain in Jueyun Karst in the Liyue region. However, the Altar of Flames and Abyss of Embers is only open on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday. So be sure to plan out your schedule if you want to pre-farm for Yelan.

Mora

Aside from 3 Crowns of Insight to get Yelan’s Talents to Lvl. 10, you will need approximately 5,000,000 Mora.
