Wands in Hogwarts Legacy
The wands in Harry Potter and Hogwarts Legacy are a crucial factor in the wizarding world. Each wand is unique and reflects the personality and magic of the wizard who wields it.
- Except for the Elder Wand, which is one of the three Deathly Hallows, no wand is individually superior to the other even in Hogwarts Legacy. However, you can get your unique wand from a quiz or customize the design according to your character preferences.
- Wands in Hogwarts Legacy can be customized based on wand style with three different colors and wood specifications such as type, length, and flexibility. Finally, you can select your wand’s core from a Dragon Heartstring, Unicorn Hair, or a Phoenix Feather.
Choosing your wand
Just like the Sorting Hat that selects your house in Hogwarts, you don’t choose the wand, the wand chooses you. Participating in the Sorting Hat ceremony in Wizarding World is the first step to getting your ideal wand. You get your House and Wand through two different quizzes.
- The Wand quiz asks you questions about yourself, your decision making and your strengths and fears. Based on these factors, you get a wand assigned to you and then you can connect your platform with Hogwarts Legacy to get your hands on it.

1st: Harry Potter’s Wand
There is no wand more iconic from the Harry Potter franchise than the one that belonged to the titular boy wizard himself. This wand is made of Holly and Phoenix feathers and is 11 inches long.
Harry inherited this wand from his father, James Potter. It is a powerful wand used in many significant battles and events throughout the series, including the defeat of Lord Voldemort.
2nd: Albus Dumbledore’s Wand
This wand is made of Elder and Phoenix feather and is 15 inches long. Albus Dumbledore was the Headmaster of Hogwarts and one of the most powerful wizards of his time.
Known for its power and versatility, he used the wand to defeat many dark wizards throughout the series. Dumbledore also had his hands on the Elder Wand for some time.
3rd: Voldemort’s Wand
A dark wizard so powerful that people were scared to even utter his name out loud, Lord Voldemort’s wand is made of Yew and Phoenix feather and is 13 3/4 inches long. Harry eventually destroyed it, symbolizing the defeat of Voldemort.
4th: Hermione Granger’s Wand
Hermione Granger, one of Harry’s closest friends and fellow Gryffindor, got her wand at Ollivander’s Wand shop. This wand is made of Vine and Dragon Heartstring and is 10 3/4 inches long. It is a flexible and powerful wand that is perfect for complex spells and incantations.
5th: Ron Weasley’s Wand
This wand is made of Willow and Unicorn Hair and is 14 inches long. Ron Weasley, Harry’s best friend, got his wand from his brothers. It is a sturdy wand that has been through many battles and adventures. But funnily, it often ends up backfiring on Ron.
