The Hardik Pandya-led Ahmedabad team of the Indian Premier League will be known as the Gujarat Titans. A private equity firm, CVC Capital, owns the franchise. They said that the name was chosen to pay tribute to the state’s rich cricketing legacy.
Titans’ home stadium will be the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the world’s largest cricket stadium.
“The franchise is inspired by the opportunity to represent and build on this deep cricketing heritage, as well as build on its future success on the pitch.”
