Elden Ring, a new game from FromSoftware, has been a highly anticipated release in recent months, converting the linear structure of Souls into a massive open-world environment. A project of this nature surely offered an interest.

On sites like OpenCritic and Metacritic, which compile the results of reviews from all across the world, open-world games are erupting in competitiveness. Horizon: Forbidden West’s Metacritic score was 88. Meanwhile, Elden Ring received a top-charting 96 from 111 critics, and a 100% Critic Recommended rating!

This shows that the press loved the game and it was nearly a “perfect” game. For example, IGN, VGC, and The Gamer all strive for the highest possible score. In addition to that, the game is now ranked sixth on the site’s list of the best-rated games, with titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Grand Theft Auto V, or Super Mario Odyssey.
