The Academy-award-winning Joker movie is getting a sequel titled Joker: Folie À Deux. To know what that means, it is a French term for two or more close people with a similar mental disorder. Moreover, Todd Phillips is back to directing this sequel movie. He is also the screenplay writer along with Scott Silver. Which he also teased in a post last June.
And now, a new cast member is coming into the sequel movie. Lady Gaga is confirmed to join Joaquin Phoenix in the cast for the Joker sequel. The actress has also posted an intriguing video teaser for the movie. Therefore, speculations now began on the internet wondering if she’s going to play the iconic Harley Quinn character.
Is Lady Gaga playing the character of Harley Quinn?
- In the intriguing teaser video posted by Gaga. It showed the silhouette Joker character of Phoenix ‘dancing’ along with a mystery woman. The woman shown in the video is the character of Gaga. Speculations are saying that the woman shown is Harley Quinn.
- It is known that Harley Quinn is the opposite character and partner in the crime of Joker. As also the meaning of the sequel title for reference, it would make sense if she is indeed Harley Quinn.
- However, there is no actual confirmation of the A Star is Born and House of Gucci actress. So we are yet to find out more about Gaga’s character but the chances are high that she would be playing Harley Quinn.
Lady Gaga playing the Harley Quinn is certainly interesting to watch. As this would also be her first time portraying a comic book character. She’s going to be a part of the actresses who played the iconic character along with the famous Margot Robbie.

- This sequel movie is reportedly going to be a musical. The music in the teaser video is a hint of the 1935 song titled ‘Cheek to Cheek’ by Irving Berlin.
- The movie is also going to release on October 4, 2024. According to Deadline, the production is going to begin in December this year.
- There are no other confirmed cast members and storyline yet.
