Nearly two months after the PlayStation showcase, Insomniac Games released a new story trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The teaser showcases a bunch of fresh content from the upcoming game while giving us a glimpse into what will happen. Analyzing the Spider-Man 2 Story Trailer
- From the opening scene, we can spot that Peter’s best friend Harry Osborn has recovered from the rare genetic disorder that once put him on the verge of death. He can be seen speaking to Peter in a kind and encouraging way. Later, he is introduced to Miles Morales by Peter as well.
- Harry made no major appearance in the two previous Spider-Man games as he was ill with the disease.
- But this time, it looks like he will be an important character and play a major part in the new storyline.
- MJ, Peter Parker, and Miles Morales appear with fresh new looks for the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The game takes place ten months after the events of the last installment, Miles Morales. Hence, the new character designs will give the players a sense of that time gap.
- After so much teasing and build-up, Venom is finally seen in action for the first time in the trailer. We witness him at his best, wreaking havoc and tearing down what seems like an aircraft used by the allies of Kraven the Hunter. We also get a good idea of the host that Venom might be using. Harry Osborne is the Host of Venom
From the trailer, it is almost confirmed that Harry Osborn will serve as the host for Venom. At the start, we hear Harry quoting, “We’re gonna heal the world” to Peter.
Towards the end, we see a frame where he looks towards the city as Venom’s voice repeats the same phrase in the background. Additionally, we can see the symbiote concealed in a liquid glass chamber during the interaction between Norman and Harry Osborne.
Kraven the Hunter teaming up with Mr. Negative
- It is announced that the previous Spider-Man villain, Mr. Negative, is returning to this game. The trailer shows that Miles is confronting him in his human form, as Mr. Negative was responsible for his father’s death. His return will definitely have a great impact on the game’s characters.
- While Kraven the Hunter prefers working alone, he will not hesitate to take the help of a partner if the situation calls for it.
- In his attempt to hunt down supernatural criminals within the R.A.F.T. prison, Mr. Negative, aka Martin Li, is freed from confinement. This makes it possible for both villains to team up and combine their powers to bring down Miles and Peter.
Venom vs Kraven the Hunter
There could be a potential conflict between Venom and Kraven the Hunter. From the trailer, we can see Venom destroying an aircraft deployed by Kraven. For a trophy hunter like him, Venom would also be one of the greatest targets to hunt down.
