THQ Nordic Group’s extended reports for the financial year 2018-19 are out and as mentioned multiple times in the statement, Metro Exodus has become “the largest game launch so far in the history of the largest game launch so far in the history of the Group”.
“The game has performed within management’s range of expectations and has recouped all investments made in development and marketing”, the statement says. The consolidated net sales for the quarter(Jan 1-March 31) were up 158%(an approximate increase of SEK 10 million) to SEK 1,630.5M, i.e., $168M USD (an approx. increase of around $1.03M USD). Deep Silver’s Metro Exodus and Coffee Stain’s Satisfactory were the primary contributors.
Stating further, THQ Nordic mentions that we’ll see fewer releases this quarter(April 1-June 31) as compared to the previous. Net sales of Deep Silver this quarter alone were SEK 794M, i.e., $82.2M USD, thanks to Metro Exodus.
Deep Silver released Metro Exodus for PC(via Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 15th, 2019.
