With two of the most prominent teams in the MPL PH scene going head to head today, it’s obvious that fans from both sides will be rooting for their team to win. However, that isn’t the case for today’s match-up between ECHO and Blacklist International (BLCK), as eagle-eyed fans spotted something different with one of the players. Though he was still the same Sanford Vinuya ML fans have come to love and idolize for his brilliant plays, we couldn’t help but wonder if ECHO Sanford got rhinoplasty surgery.
ECHO Sanford shocks the community with a new look
The second day of the MPL PH Season 12 Playoffs kicks off today at the EVM Convention Center, and Sanford has chosen this as the perfect time to debut his new look. No, we’re not talking about a crazy hairstyle or a sudden growth spurt in the 17-year-old professional ML player.
If we look closely at Sanford’s facial features at the MPL PH match-up, there is definitely something different with his face, and we’re not the only ones who noticed it.
Popular ML players-slash-couple VeeWise have also noticed Sanford’s new look. While streaming the match, OhMyV33NUS reacted to one of their supporters’ comments asking if ECHO Sanford underwent rhinoplasty surgery.
- Vee reads the comment while laughing, assuming it was a joke. But his partner Wise wanted to confirm the comment and took a better look at Sanford, reacting in surprise when he spotted the difference.
- Wise even compared Sanford to his picture displayed on-screen and says his face actually does look different.
- Vee dismisses this and says that it’s possible ECHO Sanford has a new look because of puberty and his new hairstyle.
- In an effort to avoid making a big deal out of it, Vee continues to say that if Sanford did get his nose done, it’s because he deserves it.
- Still, it doesn’t seem that the Queen of Support is convinced about the young player going through with the procedure. Vee thinks it might have been the contour or foundation doing its magic in shaping Sanford’s nose that way.
But if we compare Sanford’s previous and current looks side by side, it does look like he got rhinoplasty surgery.

Though nothing is wrong with wanting to improve one’s appearance, some fans couldn’t help but feel worried since Sanford is only 17 years old.
Rhinoplasty isn’t a new thing in the PH Mobile Legends community
Assuming ECHO Sanford got rhinoplasty surgery, it isn’t something new among the pro players in the Philippine scene.
- Last year, BLCK Renejay pushed through with rhinoplasty surgery and even documented the whole thing.
- In a vlog he released last May 5, 2022, Renejay shares how he got his nose fixed in an effort to look more handsome.
- Although rhinoplasty can be done to improve breathing, Renejay’s reason for getting the procedure was to reduce his insecurities about his looks.
If the allegations are true, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal among the fans. This could be ECHO Sanford’s way of feeling more confident with himself, and as long as he isn’t harming anyone else or himself, there’s no problem if Sanford chooses to do something different with his looks.
Plus, we doubt he was allowed to undergo the procedure alone. Since he is a minor, Sanford must have had a guardian guiding him before, during, and after the rhinoplasty surgery.
