MultiVersus: How to unlock Rick and Morty Stage in under 5 hours

MultiVersus - How to unlock Rick and Morty Stage Cover

The MultiVersus player community pulled off an impressive feat recently. In just under 5 hours, they were able to unlock the Rick and Morty stage in MultiVersus. But how exactly did they do that?

As a fun way to announce that a new stage is going to be available in the game, MultiVersus gave players a challenge that sounded like it would take some time. However, players all over gave it their all to unlock the Rick and Morty-themed stage in the game.

Players need to perform millions of ringouts so they can unlock

The challenge which players had to complete is to achieve over ten million ringouts so the Rick and Morty stage will be unlocked for all MultiVersus players. The stage is called ‘Cromulons’ and it features different elements that are familiar to Rick and Morty fans.

What the team behind MultiVersus didn’t expect was that players were committed to completing the challenge. In under five hours, players completed the challenge. And as reported by VGC, the approximate time it took players to unlock the stage was only three hours after the announcement went live.

It doesn’t surprise us, though, as this stage is the first stage added to the game since its beta release. Furthermore, it builds up to the excitement of players as Rick and Morty are set to arrive in MultiVersus on August 9.

Aside from Rick and Morty, more iconic characters are joining MultiVersus

Following Lebron James joining the fast-growing 2v2 fighting game, more pop culture icons are set to join MultiVersus. Based on the information we have right now, Rick and Morty are the next ones coming to the game.

However, there have been sightings of Rick Sanchez in different lobbies which left some players confused. But the most plausible explanation for this is some players are that good at hacking into the game and extracting data for Rick’s character in MultiVersus.

As for other characters coming to the game, here are some possible MultiVersus characters according to dataminers:

  • Joker (DC)
  • Raven (Teen Titans)
  • Gizmo (Gremlins)
  • Marvin the Martian (Looney Tunes)
  • Scooby-Doo (Scooby-Doo)
  • Daenerys (Game of Thrones)
  • The Hound (Game of Thrones)
  • Wicked Witch of The West (Wizard of Oz)
  • Godzilla (Godzilla)
  • Johnny Bravo (Johnny Bravo)
  • Fred Flintstone (The Flintstones)
  • Mad Max (Mad Max)
  • Samurai Jack (Samurai Jack)
  • The Powerpuff Girls (The Powerpuff Girls)
  • The Animaniacs (The Animaniacs)
  • Duck Dodgers/Daffy (Looney Tunes)
  • Scorpion (Mortal Kombat)
  • Sub Zero (Mortal Kombat)
  • Ben 10 (Ben 10)
  • Ted Lasso (Ted Lasso TV Show)

If these leaks turn out to be true, we’re more than excited to see Lebron James fighting against one of the Powerpuff Girls. On the other hand, each character plays a specific role in matches so it’ll be interesting to see what type of fighter these characters are going to be.

At the moment, MultiVersus is still in its beta testing stage. It’s free to play on the PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Microsoft Windows. There is no definite date yet on when it’ll leave beta testing.
