Everybody hop on the NBA hype train! NBA 2K23 is almost here and according to Ronnie2K, it’s going to be the “greatest game we’ve ever released”. So aside from getting Michael Jordan on the cover, it looks like 2K23 will have lots in store for us!
Ronnie2K tells players to get ready for the greatest NBA 2K game ever released
While speaking to USA Today, the digital marketing director for 2K claims that the upcoming NBA 2K is going to be the “greatest”. Ronnie Singh, also known as Ronnie2K, shared his excitement with fans of the beloved basketball video game franchise.
Aside from the fact that what makes NBA 2K23 special is because Michael Jordan is on the cover, there is more that makes the upcoming title special. According to Ronnie2K, “This is the year of greatness and this is going to be the greatest game we’ve ever released.”
Moreover, there are going to be loads of new features included in NBA 2K23. While talking about the overall gameplay, it is going to be completely different from past NBA 2K titles.
Ronnie2K shared that the game features an entirely new system which is “smoother” compared to previous NBA games. However, he did not go into the specifics of the entirely new gameplay players are getting soon.

Devin Booker is the cover athlete for NBA 2K23 alongside Michael Jordan
But aside from the legendary Michael Jordan gracing the cover, another rising NBA player is also getting his own cover. Devin Booker is going to be the face of the Standard and Digital Deluxe Edition for NBA 2K23.
And although there are other NBA players who could have made the cover, Ronnie2K explains how the decision of putting Booker on the cover came to be. Turns out, Booker excelled during the NBA Players Tournament which happened over the pandemic.
Additionally, Devin Booker performed exceptionally well recently and that was evident in one of the best seasons he’s played while signed with the Phoenix Suns. Ronnie2K also explained that it was “obviously” going to be Devin Book on the cover. “Obviously came up a little bit short in the playoffs, but he’s the guy,” Ronnie 2K said.

Because of his performance, Ronnie2K shares that it was “time to celebrate him,” which they did by putting him on the cover of NBA 2K23. Alongside Booker, Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi are also appearing on the cover of the NBA 2K23 WNBA Edition.
Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi brought home five Olympic gold medals for Team USA. Ronnie2K says they are two of the “greatest female basketball players of all time.” Plus, he did not want to let Sue Bird’s last season end without her ever gracing the cover of an NBA game.
As for the Michael Jordan covers, it will only be available for the NBA 2K23 Michael Jordan Edition and NBA 2K23 Championship Edition.

The game is set to release on September 9th, 2022. It is now available for pre-order on the PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.
