NBA: Kyrie Irving Erupts for 50 Points Against the Hornets!

March 8, 2022 – Kyrie Irving achieves season-high 50 points in an outing against the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center (Charlotte, NC).

Irving played a spectacular and efficient game, putting up 50 huge points while shooting 79% from the field and 75% from behind the arc.

Kyrie is the 11th player to score 50 plus points this season.

He joins the likes of Curry, LeBron, Giannis, Doncic, Trae Young, Morant, Jaylen Brown, Tatum, Durant, and Embiid.

Uncle Drew was unstoppable that night and was definitely on a league of his own. He was extremely hot, both from the midrange and from the three-point line (shooting 9 for 12).

Kevin Durant was quiet during the game, only tallying 14 points. But, the veteran center Andre Drummond largely contributed with 20 points and 14 rebounds.

OTHER NEWS:

Charlotte, on the other hand, had three players who scored more than 20 points. LaMelo Ball had 24, while Terry Rozier and Miles Bridges both had 30 points. Though Charlotte’s big 3 played very well, the Nets still got the win (132-121).

The Brooklyn Nets were struggling in their last 20 games, winning only 3 games in total.

This might have been due to the fact that Kyrie Irving can only play away games due to New York’s health protocol and Kevin Durant’s injury last January.

Kyrie played his 17th game this season, and with this win, he has put Brooklyn back at the 8th seed again. He is also currently averaging elite numbers of 26.2 points, 5.7 dimes, and 3.8 boards per contest.

Nets head coach Steve Nash have high praises for the star point guard for his impeccable performance saying,

“He’s incredible. He’s a career highlight reel every time, every night,”  “We obviously have a special player on our hands, and tonight, he was unbelievably efficient and difficult to defend. Those were really big shots he made in the second half, but overall he’s just an incredible player, shot-maker.”

The Brooklyn Nets’ victory against the Hornets was a “must-have” to create momentum and put them back on track. Before the conflicts and injuries, the Nets were a huge threat to any team in the league.
