Nintendo Direct Recap: Mario, Kirby, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 + More!

The Nintendo Direct was presented in the familiar pattern of trailers followed by brief interjections by the general manager of the Nintendo group, Shinya Takahashi. There are a few pleasant surprises in store, as one might expect. Let’s take a look!

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

In order to kick off its presentation, Big N picked a well-known franchise, notably Fire Emblem, but with a fresh perspective and a brand-new game in hand. The tale abandons the usual J-RPG for another Japanese genre, namely the muso.

In this type of genre, you play as a powerful character facing out against an army of hundreds of other players. This new Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes journey will also have some massive bosses.

Mario Strikers

Mario Strikers has received a new, nearly three-minute-long trailer that showcases some of the game’s most important elements. Our characters may wear a variety of armor which you can unlock via the use of virtual currency.

Additionally, you can conduct Hyper Strikes, which are stylized versions of finish techniques that allow us to score goals in style. The trailer also includes an impressive visual flair. The release date will be the 10th of June 2022.

Splatoon 3, Front Mission, Speedstorm

  • A huge exclusive, Splatoon 3, was unveiled with a new atmosphere that was darker and wackier than usual. It also subtly confirmed its summer 2022 release.
  • When it came time to unveil another remake, Nintendo chose Front Mission 1st, a tactical role-playing game that was initially launched in 1995. The game is getting an extraordinary overhaul from the company’s vaults.
  • Gameloft’s Disney Speedstorm, a new Mario Kart-style game, was among the most surprising revelations of the event. In an arcade racing game with diluted courses and exploding bonuses, Disney and Pixar’s famous symbols from animated features will be reunited.

Assassin’s Creed, Chrono Cross, Kingdom Hearts

  • The Ezio Collection for Assassin’s Creed will be released on February 17th, and Power of the Force, the latest entry in the Star Wars franchise, is being ported over as well.
  • Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, Kingdom Hearts Integrum Collection (which will operate with the cloud), Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series, SG Gundam Battle Alliance and even the comeback of Live A Live are all on the list. Even Portal, Valve’s cult-favorite video game, will also be re-released for the Nintendo Switch this year!

Wii Sports

The unveiling of Wii Sports 2, or should we say Nintendo Switch Sports, was one of the great hits of Nintendo Direct. A successor to the Wii’s cult-favorite game will be ready this year. It will feature some of the most popular sports from its big brother, Nintendo’s Wii Sports. Yes, bowling will also be part of the game.

Goal shooting, badminton, and volleyball are the three newest additions. The physical version of the game comes with a garter in which you can insert to a Joy-Con, allowing for a number of extra movements. The finest example is the ability to kick a goal from the comfort of one’s home.

Triangle Strategy, Metroid Dread + More!

  • There were also quick teasers of all the upcoming games, including the J-RPG TRIANGLE STRATEGY, as well as Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythm Festival, Two Point Campus, Zombie Army 4, and the nag Zombie Army 4 (basically a mobile game).
  • Metroid Dread will receive a free update that includes a new, harder difficulty option in which Samus dies in one hit. A busy schedule, all in all.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Kirby and the Forgotten World looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Nintendo has released a new teaser featuring our beloved pink marshmallow in his post-apo world, which is just as vibrant as ever.

If you haven’t already done so, we remind you that this action-adventure and platform game will be out on March 25th, less than a month away! For sure, one of the machine’s many future hits.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Another Nintendo Direct announcement that can’t possibly go unnoticed. Many spectators were disappointed to see that the show focused on Mario Kart but not the much-anticipated ninth installment. Instead, the company opted to rework Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with a paid expansion.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

There were several new games on display during the show’s finale, but none of them could have been more exciting than Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Simply put, its predecessor is one of the finest Switch games, and a sequel was much sought by fans.

This excellent news is accompanied by a grandiose trailer, which demonstrates that the game’s creative approach is still just as effective as it was when it was first shown. We now even have a new release date, or rather a timeframe: September 2022!
