Nintendo Wins Court Case, Inability To Cancel Pre-orders Adjudged Legal
Nintendo was under legal scrutiny in Germany and Norway after Norwegian Consumer Council moved against the company criticizing the inability to cancel preorders. Nintendo however, has won the case as per Norwegian site Pressfire which has been following the court case for quite some time.
The case was decided after Christmas, but since it was a closed-door hearing, details got out recently. While Nintendo has got a clean sheet in the case, the decision has been appealed by the German Consumer Ombudsman, which means a new round in court.
Earlier in November, we had reported that Nintendo is defending their policy in Court, because “legal action has been sought against Nintendo for breach of European consumer rights.” It will be interesting to see how things pan out from here.
