Nvidia releases DLSS 2.0 with the latest driver
Nvidia has released the latest version of the DLSS ( Deep Learning Super Sampling) technique, called DLSS 2.0 with their latest game driver in light of the highly anticipated Half-Life Alyx.
DLSS is a feature for Nvidia’s 2000 Series Graphics card which enables the system to render an image at a foreseeable higher resolution than they actually are. This results in a crisper image without sacrificing the frame rate.
With the help of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, DLSS produces an image that makes it looks like that of a higher resolution image. This in result, eases off some pressure on the graphics card and helps in providing better frame rates in the games.
DLSS 2.0 offers superior image quality with better customization options. Adding three image quality modes to choose from which are- Quality, Balanced, Performance. The Performance mode is capable of enabling 4X times resolution, meaning that it can render a 1080p image at the quality of a 4K image.
Aside from this, DLSS 2.0 also provides a generalized AI network for all the games which means better integration and more games implementing DLSS 2.0 in the future. It also more efficiently uses Tensor cores to execute twice the performance of the original.
The latest titles to receive DLSS 2.0 update today is MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries and Remedy’s Control, the latter of which Nvidia claims to improve the performance up to 75% with this new feature.
