Steam’s set to have a holiday sale, of course. It happens every year around this time. The dates, though, are in flux typically until the last minute. Now we know Steam’s Winter Sale for 2016 starts on December 22. That’s this Thursday.
PayPal stepped up and announced the start date for the Winter Sale for 2016. They did this for the summer sale, too. Here’s the tweet in question:

What time will the Steam Winter Sale start?
Typically, the Steam Sales usually start at the same time of day, give or take a few minutes for things to officially set in. You can expect Steam to kick off the sale on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 1 p.m. ET.
