PlayStation Skipping E3 2021, What About State of Play?

Sony will yet again ditch E3. PlayStation believes that it can better highlight its titles by itself. Sony is the only massive company to skip E3 this year, despite the fact that other major corporations have done so before.

The itinerary for this year’s E3 convention is mostly set. A few days of publisher highlights are scheduled between June 10 and June 15.

Sony, which hasn’t held an actual E3 show since 2018, is by far the most high-profile omission. There’ll be no PlayStation feature this year except when Sony brings a last-minute shocking update.

State of Play

Although Sony will not be attending E3 in person, nothing prevents it from following in EA’s footsteps and hosting its own activity in the same timetable. Sony usually unveils its State of Play live broadcasts a few days in advance, so there’s a chance we’ll get one in the coming days.

However, we have no idea how much Sony has to present. God of War: Ragnarok’s launch date has been pushed back to 2022, and there aren’t many PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 exclusives with solid releases.

Horizon: Forbidden West was previously featured in a State of Play, but it still has an unclear “2021” launch date. It’s probable that Sony won’t be at E3 since its first-party studios don’t have something significant to display.

Given Sony’s nonappearance, this year’s E3 is shaping up to be a major event. When E3 2021 starts on June 12, Bethesda, Capcom, Nintendo, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Xbox, and other major companies have all committed to making some thrilling updates.
