Pokemon GO: Air Adventures Guide (Season of Alola)

“Look up the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, It’s … Pokemon GO: Air Adventures!”

Whoa! Pokemon Go never fails to surprise its players. Niantic, PoGo’s developers, is once again holding another fruitful event – Pokemon GO: Air Adventures. Previously announced last year, Air Adventures is finally dropping this week, May 2022.

This event aims to promote a themed airplane travel experience, not just in the game, but also in Japan. Further, the event will be split into two parts. The first one will be held in-game, where everyone from all around the globe can participate. Meanwhile, the second part will be an in-person event that will take place in Okinawa, Japan.

The event will officially drop on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 (10 a.m. of your local time). It will end by Sunday, May 8, 2022 (8 p.m. of your local time). Since the theme focuses on the skies and flight, flying-type Pokemons will be given the spotlight. During the event, some Pokemons (which are also seen in Wild Encounters) will spawn more frequently. To add, there is also a chance you will be seeing their shiny variations. Here is a list of Pokemon that will be available during the event:

  • Flying Pikachu
  • Magikarp
  • Wingull
  • Meowth
  • Jigglypuff
  • Psyduck
  • Swablu
  • Doduo
  • Drifloon
  • Charizard
  • Mantine

Aside from Pokemons to be seen in Wild Encounters, Pokemon GO will also feature the debut of two Mega Evolutions – Mega Latias and Mega Latios. As usual, you have to beat these Mega Evolution Pokemons to capture them. Good luck!

After capturing a Latios or a Latias, both Pokemons will showcase a special and unique charged attack. See the table below for details.

Charged Attack Trainer Battles Gyms and Raids
Mist Ball (Latias) 120 power and a chance to lower the enemy Pokémon’s Attack 105 power
Luster Purge (Latios) 120 power and a chance to lower the enemy Pokémon’s Defense 100 power

In addition to all of that, there will also be specific Pokemons that will appear on raids during the event. Take a look at the following Pokemons which can be spotted in Three-Star Raids or Mega Raids.

Three-Star Raids Charizard, Lapras, and Togekiss
Mega Raids Mega Latias, and Mega Latios

Together with the Pokemons stated above, an egg-hatching event will also take place during Air Adventures.

From May 3 to May 8, you will be able to catch Pokemons straight from their eggs. These Pokemons are:
