Pokemon GO: January 2022 First Community Day
Niantic, the creators of the popular mobile game Pokémon GO, recently sought to celebrate the start of the new year by announcing the first event of Community Day 2022. Spheal, an Ice and Water-type Pokémon from the franchise’s 3rd generation, will appear in this first event. Below, we’ve outlined all of the features available in this Niantic-hosted event.

Once again, it appears that the event will be the same in 2022, with a 6H duration, allowing Niantic to offer all gamers enough opportunity to participate in the event.

Spheal Community Day
- Evolve Sealeo (Spheal’s Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Walrein that knows the Charged Attack Icicle Spear and Fast Attack Powder Snow.
- For US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Spheal Community Day–exclusive Special Research story, The Spheal Deal!
- Stay tuned for when tickets for The Spheal Deal Special Research story go live.
- There’ll also be a special one-time-purchase Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins, featuring 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, five Lucky Eggs, and an Elite Fast TM.
- A bundle containing 30 Ultra Balls will be available in the shop at no cost. Be sure to pick them up during the event!
