The Pokemon Company has announced an exciting new event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that gives players the chance to receive the Mythical Pokemon Mew completely free by using a code. This “Get Mew & Mewtwo” event provides a special code that can be entered to obtain this rare and powerful Pokemon.
What is the Get Mew & Mewtwo Event?
This event ties into the upcoming addition of Mewtwo to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as a Tera Raid Boss. It encourages you to get a Mew ahead of time to battle Mewtwo when it arrives. The code to receive Mew is available now, while Mewtwo will be in Tera Raids from August 31 to September 17.
When Does the Code Expire?
The code to redeem Mew will be active until September 18, 2023, at 2:59 pm UTC. This provides over a month for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players to log in and claim their free prize. So don’t miss out, go grab it right now!
How to Get Mew with the Code
Don’t have the Mew code? Don’t worry; we have your back. Using the Mew code is simple, so follow these steps to redeem this pocket monster:
- Access the menu and choose “Poke Portal”
- Select “Mystery Gift” from the Portal
- Choose the “Get with Code/Password” option
- Carefully enter the code GETY0URMEW
- Confirm the code and receive Mew!
Once you obtain it, Mew will be placed in a box within the player’s Pokemon storage system. You can withdraw it anytime.
The Nature, Moves, and Tera Type of Each Mew Varies
An interesting aspect of this distribution event is that every Mew will be completely unique. The Tera Type, Nature, and moves will be randomized for each one claimed. So a lot of players will have different Mew. THIS IS EXCITING, ISN’T IT?!
Bring Your Mew to Fight Mewtwo
Based on reports from data miners, using Mew in Tera Raid battles against Mewtwo will grant it special stat boosts. This includes a 50% HP increase and a 20% boost to Attack, Defense, Sp. Attack, Sp. Defense, and Speed.
This makes Mew a strategic Pokemon to bring to the Mewtwo raids. The boosts seem intended to recreate the classic battle between the two from Pokemon lore in a new form.
Note: Although we are sure you will get boosts while using Mew against Mewtwo, these stats are not confirmed and can change.
The chance to get a free Mew doesn’t come often. Make sure to use the code in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet soon to add this iconic and mighty Pokemon to your team.
