Koei Tecmo today released the announcement trailer for Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV, marking the game’s announcement for PS4 & PC. The last Romance of the Three Kingdoms game came out in 2016, with Romance of the Three Kingdoms XII’s English released being skipped altogether.
Thankfully, unlike Romance of the Three Kingdoms XII, the latest title of the franchise isn’t exclusive to Japan and Taiwan. Slated for an early 2020 release, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV also got a trailer highlighting the history of the series. The game will sport“Lord-like gameplay,” where both Domestic commands and battles occur on the same map.
The game will progress by plotting/cycling through the “strategy phase,” in which you instruct Domestic and military commands, and the “advanced phase,” in which those instructions are put into effect. Apart from this, Koei Tecmo also promises a “new Evolved Artificial Intelligence system” which will challenge players across multiple playthroughs
The game will be making its way to PS4 and PC in Japan this year itself, while the Western release will follow in early 2020.
