Servers Down for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Until 2022

Konami made an announcement that the online servers for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be shutting down by the end of May 2022.

Yesterday, the process of winding down the servers had commemorated with the termination of the game’s purchase system. To be more precise, the multiplayer modes will vanish and go fully offline from 31^st May 2022. Ahead of this event taking place, Konami has provided a schedule. It aims to explain when specific online elements and multiplayer elements will be unavailable.

Online Servers Down

• To begin with, on 31^st August 2021 Konami closed the window for the system that enables players to purchase things. If people wish to purchase more still, they will have the opportunity to do so until 30^th November 2021 to purchase any Metal Gear Online-related DLC.
• However, Konami has informed that on 1^st March 2022 distribution of such elements will come to a halt. And then everything that uses and related to the online servers in Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will completely stop working on 31^st May 2022.

• The unavailability of online servers in The Phantom Pain is applicable only on the above-mentioned two platforms; whereas PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC versions will continue to behave and work normally.
• Additionally, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will still be able to play in the single-player campaign.
• This announcement has come in a year after the major goal achievement by PS3 Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain; where players had achieved “nuclear disarmament in July 2020”.
