If you’ve gotten past Sifu’s first monster, Fajar, you might think you’re unstoppable…at least until you reach The Club, Sifu’s second level. This second action-packed level is finished off by one of the game’s most difficult bosses. Sean (The Fighter), as he’s known, is a lot more technical than the last boss, thus it’s understandable if a player gets stuck. Here’s how you beat the Sean boss in Sifu and make it through The Club.
After brawling your way through Sifu’s sprawling Club area, you’ll face Sean The Fighter in a two-round one-on-one battle that will put all you’ve learned about dodging to the test.
Sean the Fighter
You can sprint to either side of the arena to pick up staff as soon as the combat starts. If you do decide to take up a weapon, you’ll want to flee as soon as possible. Make sure you’re aware of Sean’s location while arming yourself so you don’t be hit. Slowly approach the villain once you’ve got your sights and have some distance between you and him so you can begin your strike.

Phase 1
Holding L1 and pressing the left stick in the opposite direction of the hit is the key to avoiding this boss’s strikes. To crouch underneath a sweep, hold L1 and press down on the left stick. Instead of trying to block, use this strategy because Sean’s strikes are powerful.

We recommend training dodging Sean’s attacks while keeping an eye on his movements. Strike a couple of times immediately as he’s open for an assault, but don’t go overboard. It’s wise to avoid a few attacks in a row and wait for an opening. Fortunately, once Sean is open for an attack, you can get up to several strikes in.
Don’t strike Sean unless you’ve first dodged an attack. Wait for Sean to attack, evade the blow, and attempt a counterattack.
- When doable, employ your Focus attacks. This will enable you to launch an unblockable attack that will stun your opponent, allowing you to launch additional attacks.
- In this instance, the Strong Sweep Focus technique, which knocks the enemy to the ground, is still a good choice. Then approach Sean, strike a couple of times with Circle, and he’ll rise. We’ll be drowsy, so you’ll have a few more shots before he defends again.

It is advisable to approach the combat that grants you bonus Focus after a successful evade or parry, allowing you more chances to unleash a Focus attack throughout the fight. Rinse and repeat. Sean’s framework will eventually fail, allowing you to unleash a finisher before moving on to the second phase.
Phase 2
Phase two starts with a charred version of the arena you just left, but the fight itself is very similar. Allow Sean to attack, evade it, then strike him with a few strikes, just as you did in the previous stage. It’s vital to remember that Sean will be using more high attacks this time, so get in the habit of ducking beneath them.
But keep in mind that Sean nearly always performs three to four attacks in a row, so don’t try to strike until the combo animation has finished. That’s why it’s important to pay attention to the boss’s different combos so you know when it’s safe to attack.

- It will get extremely hard to find a gap for a blow when Sean’s second phase form gets down to roughly half Structure, as he prefers to back up after completing a combo.
- When you evade an attack, though, your Focus meter fills, which you can take advantage of. If you want to play it safe, dodge his attacks until your Focus meter is full, then inflict damage with your Strong Sweep. It will take much more time to use this strategy, but it is preferable.
