Since Insomniac has been teasing us with snippets of what’s to come in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, many theories have emerged, with one of them being a Peter vs Miles showdown wherein it’s possible that the Symbiote will take over Peter’s entirety. A recent leak seemingly confirms that Peter (with the power of the Symbiote) will square off against Miles, his protégé.
Why is there a Peter vs Miles Boss Fight in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?
It seems Insomniac Games has taken inspiration from the comics and movies featuring our beloved webhead and used them in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the upcoming game releasing this October 20, 2023.
Aside from having to fight off powerful villains like Kraven the Hunter and The Lizard, Miles has another problem to deal with: Peter.
For the uninitiated, the Symbiote is essentially a “sentient being” that can attach itself physically and mentally to its host. It’s highly likely that Peter has become dependent on the black suit after bonding with the Symbiote.
Remember when Yuri Lowenthal explained how he studied drug addiction behaviors to prepare for Peter’s role in the upcoming game? That alone says a lot about what direction this Spidey title will go.
Recent leaks have also confirmed the theorized fight between Peter and Miles. Two of the top leaks proving this is the story mission titled This Isn’t You, wherein you have to “Help MJ,” and the other one is a picture of a screen showing a sneak peek of the boss fight.
Some Reddit users have explained that this boss fight happens after Peter, under the influence of the black suit, attempted to kill Kraven the Hunter. Miles stopped the corrupted Peter from going through with his plan. During the fight, we may see Miles using church bells to save Peter and get the dangerous suit off.
Perfect set-up for a new game in the series
One of the major plot points in the second Spider-Man game revolves around Peter and his increasing dependency and addiction to the black suit.
At one point, it appears that he’s already given in and allowed the corruption to take over his entire being. Aside from wanting to kill the criminals instead of sending them to good ol’ prison, leakers also shared a story spoiler of the Symbiote almost killing MJ.
Since the symbiote suit will pretty much be an alternative suit for you to wear in Marvel’s #SpiderMan2PS5, I was wondering if Yuri Lowenthal recorded the same lines twice, for when you’re wearing the symbiote suit and when you’re not! 🤔🔥

If Miles fails to help Peter in time, we may end on a cliffhanger just as the latest Spider-Verse film did and wait three more years for the next game. Of course, the chances of this happening are low as Peter is still the main character in the Spider-Man series. The next game could involve Venom once more, but this time, he will be more prepared to face off against the Spider-Men.
