Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Will Be Very Similar To Sekiro Shadows Die Twice

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is one of the most anticipated titles coming out this Christmas season. Respawn, after an excellent entry in the Battle Royale with Apex Legends, is ready to bring fans the first action/adventure game focused on the fantastic and much-loved world of Star Wars.

What we could see at E3 this year was a game that has everything it takes to be the perfect closure of a gaming year full of emotions. Although the developers weren’t of many words on the gameplay and structural side of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, finally today we were able to understand something more specific.

In a long interview published in the EDGE magazine (number 335 of September 2019), the guys from Respawn mentioned the FromSoftware team and its games twice. To begin with, Lead Combat Designer Jason de Heras said that Jedi Fallen Order is “very similar” to Sekiro Shadows Die Twice.

“I thought it was pretty tough, and it’s comforting to know that this kind of game could have been done without a stamina indicator. They let you attack, they roll you, and then the AI will tell you if you’re doing the right thing. He confirmed that we should not limit everything the player does. Let them have a little more freedom of action and then let the AI give them a slap on the wrist or a punch in the face. It was very positive for us to know that there was a game similar to ours. Very similar”.

Even Game Director Stig Asmussen made his appreciation for FromSoftware even more explicit, even citing it as an inspiration for their work:

“I’ve been a big fan of From Software since the time of King’s Field. King’s Field II is one of my favorite games of all time. It is not about appreciating a game and trying to recreate it, but rather understanding what we can learn about the fun it offers”.

Despite the words of Respawn, we believe that Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order will not be as difficult as FromSoftware has accustomed us with its games but, with these words, we admit that there has risen a further curiosity about the title.

Recall that Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order will debut on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 15th.
