Here’s the list of games that will bid 2016 a farewell
2016 had been a great year for gaming. We witnessed this amazing year and some of the biggest releases. Uncharted 4, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, and uncountable masterpieces including indie games like Inside, Guts and Glory and TABS.
The year’s ending and we’ve made a list of the games you’d love to try out before bidding goodbye to this remarkable year. Let’s take a look –
Silence
Get ready for a journey to the fantastic dreamscape of Silence – to the Whispered World. The story revolves around Noah, a 16 year old and his his little sister Renie. They take shelter in a bunker during an air raid and that’s how they find the world of Silence.
The demo version of the game is available for free on Steam and I’m already downloading it. Once my download completes, I sat tight on my chair for an hour, and here’s what I made out of my precious time.
Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection
Travel back in time with Ezio Auditore da Firenze once again with The Ezio Collection. It’s actually a good news for players with a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One. Revisit the streets of Italian Renaissance, bust the corruption of Rome and brag for your rights in Constantinople. Here are the games included in The Ezio Collection –
Assassin’s Creed II, Ezio’s saga in the Italian Renaissance.
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood – Journey into Rome, as Ezio takes leadership of the entire Brotherhood of Assassins.
Assassin’s Creed Revelations – Two Assassins, one destiny. Embark on Ezio’s final adventure as he walks in the footsteps of his great mentor, Altaïr.
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier
The third season of Telltale’s most popular ‘The Walking Dead‘ is here. It is planned to tie in all the possible endings that players from previous seasons may have taken, but as well as to draw in new players to the series. The third season is taking place a few years after the second season, so even new players will be able to co-op with the game.
The Walking Dead series is a winner of over 90 Game of The Year awards and that’s just one reason why you must play the game. The game’s story is incredibly strong and the narratives are worth praising. Have a look at A New Frontier’s trailer to get a better knowledge about this season –
Watch Dogs 2
Watch Dogs 2 is Ubisoft’s newest ‘hacking’ game and is the 2nd game in the Watch Dogs franchise. It was one of the most-hyped game of 2016, and it was worth the wait. I recommend playing Watch Dogs 2 as it is actually a brilliant game and excellent in all aspects. The gameplay is great, great parkour, diverse hacking techniques and most importantly, unlike Watch Dogs, it comes with an improvised driving mechanism. The story is great as far as I know, and the characterizations are incredible.
I’m a PC gamer, and I’m waiting for it to release on PC. But if you own a PS4 or an Xbox One, you can play the game already.
Final Fantasy XV
Another most anticipated game of the year. Square Enix’s major IP is back with the 15th installment in the franchise. Although it’s a console exclusive, you must try it out if you love RPGs. Here’s why I think FFXV is going to be epic. Firstly, it has got some gorgeous graphics and details. Second, the battle system has been completely revamped to real-time beat-’em’-up style of gameplay. And also, because of an engaging story-line. It’s one of the best games you’ll enjoy while spending the last days of the year.
Steep
Another Ubisoft title and another must-play this year. No matter you love sports or not, Steep will give you chills and take you to the icy adventures of Annecy, France. It’s an open world extreme sports game developed by the people at Ubisoft Annecy. 2 beta periods for Steep were launched on October 27 but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to try it out.
However, I really think the game will keep you glued to your screens this winter. Steep is more fun with friends. It is a very online-focused game, in which all players share the same game world, engaging in various sports activities simultaneously. I think I will put this one on my wishlist, and as always “D out for Ubisoft!”.
Dead Rising 4
Take a selfie with zombies in Dead Rising 4. That’s all I can say. Dead Rising 4 is an upcoming open world survival horror beat ’em up videogame developed by Capcom Vancouver. I haven’t played the last DR game, nor the previous one, neither the first one. But I can assure you that I’ve watched a lot of PewDiePie videos of Dead Rising 3 and the concept of the game is quite fascinating to me. No campaign, no mess. Just clear those dumb-ass zombies and that’s your game.
It’s a time-killer and will surely help you spend your holidays. If you slay zombies in some stylish way, don’t forget to take a selfie and share it on social media with #DRdead. We’ll pick the best ones, and…. to be continued.
The Last Guardian
“The Last” Guardian is an upcoming masterpiece by genDESIGN and SIE Japan Studio for the PlayStation 4. The game is designed and directed by Fumito Ueda, and shares stylistic, thematic, and gameplay elements with his previous games, Ico and all-time favorite Shadow of the Colossus. Do you need any other reason to play the game than that?
The game’s prologue is about escaping the environment, evading guards and working as a team. A lot of team co-op is required, and that can be seen in PewDiePie’s gameplay of the game. To be frank, PS4 games are quite lucky to get so many amazing titles in just one year. If you’re home alone and want to spend time gaming, nothing better than The Last Guardian can help you with it.
Bottom Line
That’s just what “I” think. It’s true there are many other games you can spend time with this holiday but if you ask me, I’d refer these games straight away. This is the first 1000-word article I wrote in several months. Took quite a few days for me to finish it, but let’s just hope that you liked it.
