According to reports, a beta version of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Nexus has been leaked. A video of what seems to be a user’s start menu has gone viral.
Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell VR games in 2020. However, since then, there has been no more word about these two titles from UbiSoft.
A few weeks ago, an official Assassin’s Creed VR game was in the works was revealed. The game would reportedly place us in the shoes of several of the game’s most iconic characters; now a fresh leak has shown a clip of the game’s menu.
Assassin’s Creed Nexus
Echiketto, a Reddit member, has posted a short clip of what appears to be the Assassin’s Creed Nexus level selection interface. His opening sequence features a large-scale image of the game’s emblem before bringing us into an immersive virtual world like those seen throughout the series.
It’s here that you set up your character’s avatar and select the level you’d want to play. The first one you see in the menu is, “The Sword of Ezio,” and it features Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed II and its two sequels.
According to his Reddit post, these are the only clips he has been able to save and upload.
However, the leak of a beta version of Assassin’s Creed Nexus allegedly allowed him to play for quite some time. These features are seemingly confirming the official announcement that it will be in first-person.
Additionally, it will let us play as multiple characters or it would have some of the series’ most distinctive mechanics, such as parkour and assassination with concealed blades.
Supposedly, it also signifies that the battle is timed. This means that we will have to wait for the adversaries to drop their defenses and that the level design will be linear rather than the open world. In spite of this, the settings may still be fully explored, but we’ll have to crouch to avoid detection.
On the other side, he discusses how the objectives are centered around a single character. He claims that we won’t be able to change characters and that pre-mission cinematics are provided to explain them.
Ubisoft has yet to confirm any of these features, so for the time being, everything we’ve heard about Assassin’s Creed Nexus is only speculations.
