Ubisoft’s The Division 2 Is The Best Selling Game Of 2019, PC Sales Exceed Those Of PS4
The first half of 2019 was full of high-quality titles. Kingdom Hearts 3, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Division 2 is just a few illustrious examples. The looter shooter is the most sold Ubisoft video game in the world during the first half of 2019.
This data emerges through the sales data cataloged by NPD, GFK, Famitsu, Media Create, GSD and other companies, but also through the financial data released by Ubisoft itself. We talk about both physical and digital downloads, so the data is complete.
Sales on the D1 were below expectations on consoles, while on PC it managed to maintain good numbers, comparable to those of the first chapter. The Division 2, let’s remember, was released on Uplay, the Ubisoft proprietary store, but also on Epic Games Store. As much as criticized, the Epic store allowed the game to earn ten times more than the first game in the same span of time.
Overall, it is the digital market that allows good results to be achieved. In the United Kingdom, at D1, sales were 20% lower but only with physical copies.
Moreover, through the financial results released we also know that the platform through which Ubisoft has gained the most is the PC, which has exceeded PlayStation 4. In this case, the result is not attributable to The Division 2 but to Anno 1800. The division is as follows:
- PC: 34% (+ 10% compared to Q1 2018-2019)
- PlayStation 4: 31% (-7% compared to Q1 2018-2019)
- Xbox One: 18% (-4% compared to Q1 2018-2019)
- Mobile: 7% (unchanged)
- Nintendo Switch: 5% (unchanged)
