AnimeJapan 2023 is notably one of the year’s most awaited Anime events. Organizers will host the convocation at Tokyo Big Sight in Japan on March 25 and 26, 2023. With all that, we hear news of Jujutsu Kaisen getting a Red Line panel time. What is AnimeJapan 2023? And How to attend the event? What announcements could they make?
What is AnimeJapan?
AnimeJapan was born in 2014, with its first event being held at Tokyo Big Sight. Ever since the convocation has been held annually and focuses on gathering the leading frontiers of the Anime industry.
- And although certain previous iterations of AnimeJapan 2023 were held offline, this year we shall see the convocation return in person. With over 100 Production houses, Anime Studios, and Anime companies housing, exhibiting, and backing the event.
- Competing against the likes of globally recognized ComicCon, AnimeJapan 2023 is the world’s leading anime convocation.
AnimeJapan 2020 was canceled due to covid-19. Then AnimeJapan 2021 was held online like many other things being held online throughout the globe. Like all school and university classes.
What will the venue be like?
- That aside, the convention center for AnimeJapan 2023 will host a big space. This space will include merchants to come to sell their goods and merch.
- Proper space for cosplayers, and a stage for musicians to display their courage. There’s also apparently a designated space for children where the family can interact with whatever amazing Anime decorations the organizing comes up with.
Who will be appearing in Anime Japan 2023?
- Different animation houses (Mappa, Wit Studios, A1 Pictures, etc), production companies (like Shueisha, Kodansha, TOEI), and anime/game entities (like Fate/Stay Night) sponsor the event. Good other names include giants like Aniplex, KLabGames, And Netflix.

The event will expose you to a wide array of conventions. While most American Cosplay Fests host only and primarily cosplayers. AnimeJapan 2023 is a celebration of AniManga as a whole. Professionals from all departments – voice actors, producers, directors, writers, illustrators, and animators, will make their appearances.
Different from Jump Festa?
In some sense, this convention is quite similar to Jump Festa 2023. Although I would say AnimeJapan is far more inclusive. The primary focus of Jump Festa has always been the leading anime – Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach. There’s Red Stage, Blue Stage, and Green Stage.
AnimeJapan 2023 Jujutsu Kaisen Announcement
Red Stage will feature the latest anime titles and live performances. This means a panel for the latest Anime to showcase whatever they have cooking.
Jujutsu Kaisen will take a special appearance here on the Red Stage. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is pending for June 2023 release. We expect the panel to reveal trailers, teasers, key visuals, and host a talk with the voice actors for Season 2.

Seating system
- The seats in the venue will follow a lottery system. One must first buy an admission ticket that will contain a stage lottery option. And these kinds of tickets can be purchased through CN Playuide and Animate.
- If you buy a normal non-stage lottery ticket, you must then stand in the space designated for Blue Stage only. The rest of the stages has a seating requirement.
