Eagle-eyed gamers were quick to spot a white Xbox Series X in the latest commercial from Logitech promoting their latest gaming headset. The sleek ad from Logitech features their ASTRO A30 Wireless Headset available in two colors: black and white. The white Xbox Series X can be spotted in the background as the black headset is being modeled. This opened up conversations about Microsoft potentially releasing a white Xbox Series X but the question is: is it true? If it is, when is it coming?
We hate to be the bearer of bad news but Microsoft has since shut down all the rumors of a white Xbox Series X coming soon. Speaking to different gaming news outlets, Microsoft clarifies that they are not releasing a new model of the Xbox Series X that comes in white.
Logitech was the one who decided to include the white Xbox Series X in their latest ad
At this point, we’re scratching our heads trying to figure out how a white Xbox Series X made it into the ad. Aside from the Xbox, there were other white products propped up on the shelves in the backdrop. All the other products seem legit. So the question is, didn’t Logitech get the actual console from Microsoft? Well, yes and no.

- The idea to include a white version of the console didn’t come from Microsoft at all
- Logitech made the decision to include the white console but the changes are handmade
- They changed the color of the Xbox Series X to fit the whole theme of the commercial
Logitech explained how they did it in a statement for CNET: We skinned an Xbox as a part of the creative in the video.” They ended the statement with an apology for any inconvenience or confusion this might have caused.
So even though the crew who worked on that Logitech ad got their hands on a legit Xbox Series X, they did some touch-ups here and there to change its color. At the moment, the console only comes in the color black. If you want to change the color of the console, you’ll have to hit up businesses that do custom work like wraps for your Xbox unit.
Will we ever see a white Xbox Series X?
In the statements Microsoft gave to outlets like IGN and VGC, the representative said the following:
“We have no plans to release the Xbox Series X console in white at this time.”
We’ll have to cling to the fact that Microsoft’s representative said that they have no plans for this at this time. It’s possible that Microsoft will decide to release the Series X in other colorways but for now, it only comes in black. There are special editions of the console, but the design still depends on your preference.
- There’s also a huge possibility that Microsoft does go through with this since consoles like the PS5 offer covers for their units
- The Nintendo Switch also makes it easy for users to customize their own devices
- It’s only a matter of time before Microsoft hops on this trend and makes it available for Xbox users
In the meantime, you always have the freedom to customize your console however you want. Just be careful when tinkering with it as this may void your warranty on the product.
