Greta Thunberg is again in the spotlight as she was just arrested in Germany a few hours ago. Thunberg, 20, is a climate activist that has been vocal about contradicting projects which she believes may cause climate change. Earlier, she was carried by the police without resisting. Although it looks hilarious, people have been commending Thunberg for what was considered an act of braveness.
German authorities detained Greta Thunberg, twice.
Thunberg has been protesting against a German coal company alongside 35, 000 other protesters (allegedly) near the village of Lützerath, Germany. Greta along with others was detained by the cops for protesting against a reported expansion of a coal mine owned by RWE. Greta Thunberg and the others have grown relentless to the company and the government after learning that they will be destroying a village to make way for the mine expansion. Despite RWE’s claim that it will be exiting the business in 2030, its actions speak otherwise.

The Swedish campaigner was literally carried on her feet after being warned they would be removed by force if they didn’t cooperate with the authorities. Before this incident, Thunberg was also arrested a few nights ago, last Saturday, in the same place. Luckily, she was released later on after an identity check. Despite the protests, the government will still pursue the expansion due to the energy demand in the country.
However, a lot of people think the arrest was “staged” and was just “all for the show”
Thunberg’s detainment received a lot of mixed reactions. While some of her followers were standing with her, some found this incident to be odd.

If you read comments on her tweet, you would see a divided fanbase. Some of them think that she is just acting and Greta is just doing this for publicity with the way she was arrested. Despite that, her avid followers are still supporting her cause for the greater good.

The then 16-year-old teenager shocked the world with her speech on climate change during the UN Climate Action Summit in 2019. It was there that she challenged leaders from all over the world about the effects of climate change. Since then, the self-proclaimed “autistic environmental activist” has been open in the war against climate change caused by the government. Years before her phenomenal speech, Thunberg has already begun her activism at home by persuading her parents to adapt to specific lifestyle choices to reduce their carbon footprint.
At the age of 15, she was already making huge waves, and shortly after, she had already formed a group called Fridays for Future. Indeed Greta does not back away from the limelight. She is extremely active on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and more) educating people and persuading them to save the planet.
Just recently, Thunberg made some noise after roasting the misogynist influencer, Andrew Tate. Safe to say that Greta Thunberg is not someone who gets easily scared.
