Xbox Showcase 2023: Leaks + Event schedule

As impressive as the PlayStation Showcase 2023 was, it lacked one thing it always had over Xbox: Exclusives. A lineup of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy XVI, Foamstars and some PS VR2 games were not enough to turn heads. Fans expected updates on the Wolverine game or a Ghost of Tsushima sequel. Xbox can finally capitalize on this by announcing first and third-party exclusive titles as they have finally announced the schedule for the Xbox Showcase 2023. The number of studios Microsoft acquired since the end of 2019 should help them to achieve this task. Let’s look at all the leaks and rumors about what Xbox Showcase 2023 has to offer.

Leaks and Speculations for Xbox Showcase 2023

Potential reveal of a Fable Reboot

Fable, a popular RPG series from 2004, is getting a facelift with modernized visuals, new narrative and gameplay elements. The reboot should still align with the original franchise, but at the same time, it will improve the overall gameplay experience.

A snippet of a trailer was first revealed about two years back, and longtime fans have been waiting for an update since. The good news is that Xbox’s Twitter account dropped something on the 31st of May, almost confirming the release of content regarding this title at the Showcase.

New content and Release date for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II

Both players and critics favored Ninja Theory’s ghastly atmospheric title Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Thus, it is no surprise that its sequel is ramping up expectations for its audience. The studio has already released cinematic and gameplay trailers, which collected immensely positive reactions. Notably the latter for its simultaneous and seamless switch between gameplay and pre-rendered sequences.

We expect new content around this one, like maybe a new trailer concerning the narrative or an in-depth tour of the new gameplay mechanics. We also hope for a release date not too far from now.

Ray Tracing in Minecraft

Console-only players have been waiting for ray tracing in Minecraft for ages, especially after it is already available on the PC versions. With the announcement of official support for this feature, players can finally get to experience it on next-gen consoles and won’t feel inferior to their PC counterparts anymore.

Here’s what to expect once Minecraft ray tracing comes to the Xbox:

Possible Avowed trailer release

Avowed, a first-person RPG, is one of the extremely awaited exclusives for Xbox. Most of those looking forward to Avowed are fans of the Elder Scrolls games, feeling that it is one of the titles closest to the genre.

Like Fabled, we have nothing besides a CGI teaser for this game. We look forward to trailer drops, if not the release date, for this title developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

Updates regarding S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl

The conflict between Ukraine and Russia briefly halted the development of STALKER 2. Its makers, the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World, had to relocate to continue working on this game. As it is scheduled for a release sometime in 2023, we can expect news regarding the sequel to one of the most generational video game series ever made.

A new Bethesda game directed by Hideo Kojima

It’s been quite a while since Microsoft announced its partnership with Hideo Kojima, and we can certainly expect something large-scale and distinctive given the visionary that he is.

We are taking a guess that we might get to see a teaser if Kojima is brewing something, but we can’t predict anything beyond that.

Untitled Indiana Jones Game by Bethesda

Bethesda teased an Indiana Jones game more than 2 years back. We might finally see Xbox’s answer to PlayStation’s Uncharted series if they announce updates for the Indiana Jones game at the showcase. Check out the official teaser from two years ago.

Starfield

Starfield would surely be the star of the show when we account for the emphasis that it’s being given by a separate event dedicated just to the game. It has been in development for 7 years, and the conceptualization process goes far earlier.

It certainly enjoyed the most hype in the past 2-3 years, even if it’s a game that would be coming to Xbox. It’s hard to make a gamer happy these days with the number of games coming out, and it would certainly be harder to meet expectations, especially for a game like Starfield. With the release date getting closer, this showcase is a great way to reignite the passion of gamers for Starfield.

First Day game releases on Xbox Game Pass

The Xbox Game Pass has a reputation for its great roster of video game libraries. The subscription-based service is also known for adding many big titles within Day 1 of the game’s release. Surely we should keep our eyes peeled for the new games we can play through Microsoft’s Game Pass.

Xbox Showcase 2023 Schedule

Xbox Games Showcase 2023 is scheduled for 11th June 2023, Sunday, at 10:00 AM PT. The event will be streamed live on several platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Twitch via Microsoft’s official accounts.

  • Starfield Direct follows right after to display in-depth content particularly related to Bethesda’s massively anticipated Starfield.
  • Expect a 2-hour window with an additional 30-45 minutes for the Starfield dedicated segment.
  • Microsoft also plans an Extended Showcase two days later on the 13th of June. This one will feature a longer timeframe, including many attributes like interviews, updates and news.

We think that wraps it up and gives us plenty of reasons to be excited about the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 on the 11th of June. Be sure to tune in for plenty of dazzling teasers, trailers and game announcements. For more content, stay with us, here at Spiel Times.
