On April 4, 2023, YG Entertainment announced that it will release a mobile game based on BLACKPINK’s intellectual property (IP) in the second quarter of this year as per the reports of Korean news outlet JoongAng Daily.
BLACKPINK THE GAME will be an interactive K-pop game similar to simulation and dress-up games. It will also include various puzzles and provide a fun experience for BLACKPINK’s fans.
A chance to manage the girl group
YG Entertainment announced their plans to release BLACKPINK THE GAME in the second quarter of this year. The game is developed in partnership with TakeOne Company, an experienced content producer.
K-pop fans might be familiar with the TakeOne Company as they previously launched the mobile game BTS World in 2019. The game featured calls, games, and simulations of helping BTS debut. It also featured an alternate storyline for each member.
BLACKPINK THE GAME will feature multiple games that are personalized for the fans of the girl group. It will provide an exclusive chance for the users to become producers of BLACKPINK and help the members grow.

As per YG Entertainment, the game will aim to provide a complete managing and producing experience with various contents such as member training, office building management simulation, and character decoration.
In addition to it, the game’s original soundtrack (OST) and music video sung by BLACKPINK will be released later.
The managing label of the globally acclaimed girl group concluded the announcement by promising the fans that they will be able to experience various aspects of BLACKPINK and meet them in a new form through the upcoming game.
Trailer shows in-game photocards
Along with the announcement, the game creator company, TakeOne Company also released the first in-game footage of their upcoming mobile game. The trailer opens with shots of the girl group in real life before it transitions to footage from the game.
Another teaser captures shots of the girl group in a tailor shop, before cutting to clips of animated versions of the members being dressed in the game.

Following the teaser launch fans are excited for BLACKPINK THE GAME which will feature puzzle quests, a management-style element, in-game photocards, and various other mini-games.
BLACKPINK THE GAME is currently available to pre-register on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The TakeOne Company’s mobile game is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2023.
