If you are into rom-com, then prepare yourselves for an amazing new series. Okemaru’s “Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha” light novel series will come to life as a TV anime in 2023. Yumemiru Danshi anime released its first teaser and key visual for the series.
On Friday, Nov 18, 2022, Pony Canyon released the first teaser also revealing the main cast and staff members. Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ are the production team for the anime adaptation.

Yumemiru Danshi anime
The teaser trailer above features Akia Natsukawa, who will be the love interest of the main character Wataru Sajo in the series. While dreaming about their mutual love, Wataru Sajo, one day, wakes up thinking, he doesn’t really deserve her.
But as he keeps approaching Akia from a distance, she starts asking herself “Could it be that he hates me?”. This seems like a fun rom-com about two people who just can’t get their feelings across. And both think their love is unrequited!

The original creator of the light novel is Okemaru which was illustrated by Mizore Saba. Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ will produce the series with the following members as the main staff:

Conclusion
- Originally released in December 2018 on Shosetsuka ni Naro, the light novels are being serialized since 2020 by Hobby Japan. With seven volumes out as of now.
- An ongoing manga adaptation by Popuri Yoshikita is being serialized on Kadokawa Shoten’s Shonen Ace Plus website since March 2021. The manga is expected to release its 3rd volume on November 25, 2022.
Since the anime will be released in 2023, we can expect the exact release date in the spring at most.

The story of Yumemiru Danshi anime begins with Wataru Sajou, a high school boy who is deeply in love with his classmate, Aika Natsukawa. But Wataru starts questioning this imaginary lovely-duo to be not right and begins to stay at a proper distance from her. What will happen next between these two? Only in the anime can unveil this.
