23-Year-Old Texan Used ChatGPT to Earn $35,000 on Udemy

ChatGPT has transformed the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and is considered a tool to make lives easier, although some argue that it may lead to job loss. Despite the ongoing debate surrounding the pros and cons of this chatbot, a 23-year-old entrepreneur named Lance Junck has earned $34,913 (₹28.69 lakh). As reported by Business Insider, Junck has achieved this by launching an online teaching others how to use ChatGPT through a course on Udemy.

Within three months of launching his course, called ‘ChatGPT Masterclass: A Complete ChatGPT Guide for Beginners’, Junck has managed to enroll more than 15,000 students. Based in Austin, Texas, Junck first used OpenAI’s tool in November of last year and was impressed by its capabilities. He wanted to make this AI chatbot accessible to everyone, saying there is an ‘incredible learning curve’ to ChatGPT, and that people are afraid of it. He hoped to make it more approachable and exciting for learners.

According to Junck, he is self-taught and spends hours every day asking ChatGPT to do various things, such as writing an introduction to a novel or product descriptions. He also claims to consume all kinds of ChatGPT content online.

Junck’s ChatGPT Udemy course is seven hours long and teaches learners to write their first ChatGPT prompt, gradually progressing to writing applications for businesses, students, and programmers. The guide also includes tutorials on creating art with AI image generator DALL-E-2, among other topics.

Junck’s students range from 20 to 50 years old and include college students and working professionals from the US, Canada, India, and Japan. Junck credits his expertise in marketing and search engine optimization (SEO) for the demand for his course, which appears first among 1,266 results for ‘ChatGPT’ on Udemy.
