Midway through the year, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will get a year of expansions. It’s also in its second year, which is unprecedented for the series.
New Expansion, “God of War-Style”
- Assassin’s Creed data miner j0nathan discovered files within one of Valhalla’s patches last October that appeared to corroborate the idea that future expansions would center on Norse mythology.
- The leaker revealed information about an upcoming expansion called Dawn of Ragnarök. Also, a new trophy/achievement for exploring the Norse kingdom of Svartalfheim, which is not yet available in the original game.
In March 2022, according to the source, a far larger expansion is coming for the game. This “huge” expansion, would comprise about 4O hours of additional gameplay and would be a “God of War-style” DLC pack.
According to industry insider Tom Henderson, additional DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be coming in December. Henderson speculated that the December DLC may be revealed at The Game Awards, which will air on December 9.
There's a new Assassin's Creed Valhalla DLC coming this December (announcement at TGA?).
There's also a massive DLC expansion coming in March 2022. It's expected to be around 40 hours of additional gameplay and will be a "God of War-style" expansion, whatever that means.

It’s unclear what this “God of War-style” Assassin’s Creed Valhalla addition comprises, but such a description suggests that gamers will be having more fun in Norse mythology. Valhalla consists of gods, locales, and creatures from Norse mythology, so it shouldn’t be surprising that more mythical aspects are on the way.
Year II
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting Year Two content support. This includes officially announced DLC with mythological themes at its core, as previously confirmed by Ubisoft. After that, data miners identified the game’s probable title — Dawn of Ragnarok — with the plot centered on Eivor’s journey to the dwarven kingdom of Svartalfheim.
- This corresponds to new indications from Henderson, implying that you’ll encounter even more gods. We’re yet unsure how Valhalla will incorporate Santa Monica 2018’s hit.
